Wells Fargo bank offers a second chance checking account called the Wells Fargo Opportunity Package. This account was created specifically for those who have had banking issues in the past and are looking for a second chance checking account at a local bank.
You will need to go in to a branch to open your new account and the required amount to open an account is $100. There is a monthly maintenance fee of $10 that is waived if you keep $1,000 minimum daily checking balance, make a qualifying direct deposit each month or transfer $25 monthly by automatic transfer to an Opportunity Savings Account.
The account comes with online bill pay as well as a debit card for making purchases and with drawing cash from an ATM. There is a rumor going around that the account does not come with paper checks or access to paper checks and we have not been able to confirm this rumor. If this is the case you could just get a Rush prepaid card for the same $10 per month.
